The Wedeco - Aquada 1 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a guaranteed replacement UV bulb that has a lamp length of 12.8 inches. The 16.5 watts UV bulb gives you a worry-free performance for an entire year. With ceramic as its base material, and lead wire and connector on a single end base, the germicidal lamp bulb has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours. This lamp also uses UV-C light to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, protozoa, viruses and yeasts.
People are of the opinion that this system provides a safe solution against microorganisms such as giardia and cryptosporidium that are considered to be chlorine resistant. UV light bulb such as this one emits energy at 254 nm wavelength and this energy reacts photo-chemically with the genetics of the microorganisms.
