The Wedeco/Ideal Horizons - LMP4090 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a 22 watts light bulb that gives you a worry-free performance for an entire year. The 17.72 inches lamp has four pin on a single end and a wavelength range of 254nm. This wavelength acts on the genetics of the microorganisms and prevents them from reproducing.
Researchers are of the opinion that this method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process. It does not affect the chemistry, pH or taste of water in the process and is a much better option to chemicals and their bi-products.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit. This results in easy disposal of glass if it shatters and renders it easy to operate the system. All you will need to do is to select the option above. The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot.
