How do I know it's working?!
Our customers often ask us how they know that the UV wand is actually doing its job. It is a pretty reasonable question to ask. After all, the disinfection that UV-C provides is happening at a microscopic level. This is why we have started including a set of free UV-C Visualizer Strips along with all GermAwayUV Surface Disinfection products. Simply put the UV-C Visualizer card on the surface that you wish to disinfect and be sure to run the sterilizing wand long enough that the strip begins to turn slightly green. As long as there is some color change, you know that the UV-C is performing its disinfecting task.
Warning: Ultraviolet UV-C light is harmful to your eyes and skin. Use proper safety gear.

Questions & AnswersAsk a Question
does this emit a 200nm wave length?
Rex, our handheld UV wand operates at peak output of 253.7nm.
do i have to wear gloves or goggle to protect myself when i am using it? where can i buy the replacement bulb for future use?
Yes, even though this handheld UVC wand doesn't generate enough UV-C light energy to be considered harmful, we offer a full range of UV safety glasses and gloves. This device also has a security feature to shut off the light when it is turned upwards to prevent exposure. It is best to keep your hands away from the direct path of the UV-C light if possible.
Suggested we buy a uv-c light wand for our disabled daughters toenail fungus. What is your suggestion?
The UV light shouldn't be used on humans or exposed to skin or eyes.
What manometer is the uv lamp?
Hello Linda, this UV lamp runs at a peak output of 253.7nm.
My two dogs was have a ringworm , is any think with UV light cane sanitize a carpet, flooring in the house.
Lina, we carry a variety of products that can kill ringworm spores utilizing UV-C light and they can be used relatively quickly and efficiently in the home but it becomes more tricky in shaded areas. To have the best chance at winning the battle with this light, you'd have to walk around the entire room holding the light as close to the ground as possible for as long as possible. If money is no object, I would also get a handheld unit to get the hard to reach spots. I would recommend our handheld UV sterilizers. We manufacture the most powerful handheld UVC sterilizer in the industry bar none: https://www.cureuv.com/products/germawayuv-35-watt-handheld-uvc-surface-sterilizer. You can see that there is a handy UVC dosage calculator on that page. If you look at mold (a similarly difficult to kill fungus), you can see that even if you're 4 inches away from the spores you have to hold the light for nearly 2 minutes. If budget is an issue, you can use our table top sterilizer and just make sure to move it around enough times between sessions so that the light will hit all the spots. If the spores are on the surface or in the air, the best solution is probably the table top unit https://www.cureuv.com/products/germawayuv-table-top-uvc-surface-sterilizer. You just have to clear out the room (nothing alive should be there: no people, pets, animals or plants) and leave the light on for at least an hour or two in every corner of the room. It has a remote control so that you never have to look at the light but it comes with some glasses for you to put on when you go into the room just in case that the light is on. Again, it can only sterilize what the light can see but you can move the light around in between sessions. This sterilizer is one of our bestsellers and works great because it disinfects the surfaces AND the air.
