The Steril-Aire - 21000100 UV Light Bulb for Germicidal Air Treatment is a guaranteed replacement UV bulb that has a lamp length of 16.14 inches and provides you a worry-free performance for an entire year. The 40 Watt UV bulb has a 4-pin base and is made using ceramic. The light bulb has a peak output of 253.7nm that is known to act on the genetic structure of the microorganisms and renders them harmless.
The light bulb has a rated life of 10,000 hours after which we recommend that you replace the light bulb. The UVC bulb is compatible with the following UVC system models:

- Steril-Aire GTS16VO
The UVC lamp bulb is completely compatible with OEM water filters, UV sanitizers, and UV purifiers. It helps in sterilizing and killing molds, bacteria, viruses, yeast, and other microorganisms that can cause harm. Since UV filters do not introduce chemicals into the water and is a purely physical state, it is a far better option than chlorination and their by-products.
This bulb is available with a shatterproof coating that in case of damage keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit where is installed. This results in an easy way to dispose of glass if it shatters. You can select this shatterproof option above.
Do I need shatterproof coating?
Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
