The Wedeco/Ideal Horizons - SSW-10 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a 17.72 inches lamp that has four pin on a single end. The 22 watts UV bulb is made using ceramic as its base material and has a T5 bulb shape.
With a wavelength range of 254nm, the germicidal UV bulb acts on the genetics of the microorganisms present in water and renders them incapable of reproduction. This method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process and does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water and is a much better option than chemicals and their byproducts. This system provides protection against water contaminants such as yeast, cyst, bacteria, virus and protozoa.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit. This results in easy disposal of glass if it shatters and renders it easy to operate the system. All you will need to do is to select the option above. The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot.
