The Siemens - LP4115 UV Light Bulb for Germicidal Water Treatment is a 4 Pin Step Single Ended UV Replacement Bulb. The germicidal water treatment bulb has a total length of 14.04" inches and can work efficiently for up to 10,000 hours. This replacement light bulb has a peak output of 253.7 nm and this wavelength is capable of killing microorganisms such as bacteria, virus, protozoa and yeast.
UV method is a preferred method of water treatment as it employs UV light at a particular wavelength and disrupts the DNA of microorganisms. It is compatible with germicidal OEM water disinfection filters, UV water purifiers and sanitizers. It is capable of destroying 99.9% harmful organisms in water. While this method effectively destroys the genetics of microorganisms it does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water in the process. This method is a good option against chemicals such as chlorine and their byproducts. The system provides protection against yeast, cyst, virus and bacteria. The replacement UVC bulb provides 12 months worry-free operation after which its germ destroying capabilities reduces.
