The UV-Guard 11010 UV Replacement Germicidal Light is a 4 Pin Stepped on a Single End - 10 Watt Germicidal Water Treatment Bulb. The UV bulb emits UV-C light to inactivate bacteria, molds, virus, protozoa and yeast present in water. The lamp has a diameter of 15 mm that is high on quality and has lower mercury dosage to meet environmental demands. The low pressure mercury arc lamp emits a radiation peak of 253.7 nm and is effective against pathogens in water.
The short wavelengths of the germicidal light bulbs emit ultraviolet rays that enable thorough disinfection. This method alters the genetic composition of the microorganisms and renders them harmless.
In its process to destroy microorganisms, the UVC light bulbs must be replaced annually to ensure efficiency. These high-quality lamps last approximately 10,000 working hours after which it is necessary to change them.
