With an average life of 8000 hours, the germicidal UV light bulb makes use of 40 watts to destroy bacteria, molds, virus and other pathogens present in water.
When water passes through the UV water treatment system, the microorganisms present in water are exposed to the light and their genetics is disrupted, thus inhibiting their ability to reproduce. This method destroys 99.9% harmful organisms in the water and does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water in the process. I purchased this lamp. On the OEM lamp and manuel it says to put the "red stickers" facing one another. There were no such stickers on your lamps. Is it important to have them installed in a certain fashion. Thanks.
After speaking with my technician he has informed me that due to the rectangular configuration of the pins the bulb can only go in 2 ways. He has also mentioned that the positioning of the bulb, as long as it is properly and fully engaged in the socket, will not be affected by the positioning as the UV emittion would not change. If you are unsure how to place the bulb we recommend comparing the placement with the old bulb.
