Guaranteed Replacement Ultraviolet (UV) Bulb - 4 Pin stepped base - 75 watts - 61.85 Inch Length Lamp - Worry-Free Performance for 1 Year

The Watts Hydro-Safe - HSRL-61 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a four-pin stepped base light bulb that gives you a worry-free performance for an entire year. The 61.85-inch lamp has ceramic as its base material and an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.

The light bulb is compatible with germicidal OEM Water sterilization filters, UV sanitizers, and water purifiers. The lamp makes use of UV-C light to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, viruses, protozoa, and yeast present in water. The fixture is high on quality and has low mercury dosage to meet the demands of the environment. This method is known to be a cost-effective way of protecting water from contaminants. With an intensity of 254 nm, the UV light emitted by the light bulb kills DNA and other microorganisms in water. When water is exposed to a UV light source it renders the microbes and bacteria present in water sterile. Researchers are of the opinion that UV rays are effective to destroy 99.99% of germs in water that may possibly cause harmful bacteria and microorganisms such as organisms causing gastroenteritis, typhoid, influenza virus, Vibrio cholera, and hepatitis virus strains. Since UV filters do not introduce chemicals into the water and are a purely physical state, it is a far better option to chlorination and its by-products.

This bulb is available with a shatterproof coating that in case of damage keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit where is installed. This results in an easy way to dispose of glass if it shatters. You can select this shatterproof option above.

Do I need shatterproof coating?

Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.

The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot. The UV lamp is managed by the life of electrodes and works well for the following applications that require UVC intensity:
