The Watts - Hydro-Safe HSUV-SS-5-1 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a 23 watts water treatment bulb that has a wavelength range of 254 nm. This T5/T6 shaped bulb is made using ceramic and has a length of 17.17 inches. With a four pin on a single end base, the ceramic lamp bulb is 100% compatible with germicidal OEM water sterilization filters, UV sanitizers and water purifiers.
The lamp makes use of UVC lamp to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, virus, protozoa and yeast present in water. The four pin base on a single end lamp bulb is used for water purification and the high quality fixture comes with a long lifespan and a low mercury dosage. UV method is a preferred method of water treatment as it employs UV light at a particular wavelength and disrupts the DNA of microorganisms. It is compatible with germicidal OEM water disinfection filters, UV water purifiers and sanitizers. It is capable of destroying 99.9% harmful organisms in water. While this method effectively destroys the genetics of microorganisms it does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water in the process. This method is a good option against chemicals such as chlorine and their byproducts.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit.
