UV light solutions for processing and packaging

The UV irradiation process involves placing food packaging into an area and flooding it with UV light at 254 nanometers for a set time, depending upon what bacteria is being targeted. During this time the short waves destroys the DNA of any bacteria and spores on the packaging surface. The objective is normally to control mold by eradicating fungal spores and spoilage microbes that may settle on food surfaces. This usually takes place immediately prior to packaging to minimize the risk of re contamination.

This processing method will no doubt be seen in more applications in the future.  For prices and/or advice on which product is best suited for your application, please contact us @ 800-977-7292
