Steril-Aire 21000500 UV Light Bulb is 84 watts and 100% compatible with germicidal OEM air & surface disinfection filters, UV sanitizers, and ultraviolet air purifiers. This high output germicidal lamp is widely used in forced air duct systems and water disinfection applications and gives you a worry-free performance for 1 year.

The lamp eliminates bacteria and it is necessary that you schedule regular cleaning of the bulb and replace it annually for better efficiency. The germicidal UVC bulbs come with a wavelength of 253.7 nm which is defined as a germicidal category. The light produced by the bulb enables the destruction of bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens by deactivating their genetic material.

Do I need shatterproof coating?

Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
