The Sunlight - LP4570 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a guaranteed UV bulb that comes with a two pin base. The 41 Watts lamp emits a short wavelength of 254nm and has ceramic as its base material. The 33.19 inches lamp has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours and gives you a year full of worry-free performance.

The lamp makes use of UV-C light to inactivate bacteria, molds, yeast and protozoa present in water and make them incapable of reproduction. The lamp produces low mercury dosage that helps in meeting environmental demands. This method is both economic and environmental friendly and is a much better option to chemicals and their bi-products. There are people who believe that this method is a far better method of water treatment when compared to chlorination.

However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
