Ice machines operate in cold, wet, enclosed environments where moisture and difficult-to-reach surfaces can support microbial buildup. This CureUV system adds continuous 254 nm UV-C exposure to the areas within the lamp's direct line of sight, helping maintain cleaner illuminated surfaces between scheduled cleaning and sanitizing procedures.

The system is intended as a supplemental sanitation tool. It does not replace the ice-machine manufacturer's required cleaning, descaling, sanitizing, filtration, inspection, or maintenance procedures.

How It Works

The 20W low-pressure UV-C lamp emits energy at 254 nm. When exposed microorganisms receive a sufficient UV-C dose, the energy damages their nucleic acids and interferes with their ability to reproduce. The system treats the exposed ice surface, nearby bin walls, splash areas, and other nonporous surfaces that receive direct illumination.

A Practical, Cost-Saving Retrofit

This system can be added to an existing compatible ice machine without replacing otherwise functional equipment. By helping limit microbial buildup on illuminated surfaces, it may reduce repeated corrective cleaning, unnecessary service calls, labor, and downtime. The lamp and mounting clips are compact, while the ballast and magnetic control can be positioned in an accessible dry location for service.
