Very good customer service

I wrote a scathing review before which I will take back, as it turns out it was an order error, the owner called me personally explained the wrong bulbs were sent. He was polite wanted to fix the issue right away including shipping issues. To me this is a person who deserves five stars, please ignore my early post. They corrected the situation and everything works great

Best handheld UV wand

This is super powerful. I could only find like 4 watt wands online but this is 18 watts! Kill germs within seconds. Great quality product. Very sturdy. Very bright. Has UV light tubes instead of LED. LED is half as powerful as using actual light tubes.

Got for my dad for Christmas as he’s almost a germaphobe, and he absolutely loves it.

Great Device

The Germaway 18 watt UV wand is n excellent product and offered at a very fair price. The website videos are also very good. We use this on everything that comes into the house. We don't rely on it alone, but it sure adds a layer of protection. Just keep in mind safety issues regarding protection of eyes and skin, and the fact that it cannot disinfect shadowed surfaces that the light does not strike directly. So, we also use disinfectant wipes as well as bleach/water/detergent washing for cans and bottles and things like oranges and skinned fruits, then a shot with the wand. My only problem is they forgot to put the extra two pairs of safety glasses in the box, and are so busy they have not been able to reply to my emails or calls, but I'm sure we'll get that resolved when they can. I like the company and it's ethics, particularly its strenuous resistance to any price gouging..

Bye Bye Germs

It works! I used 1 UV card per bulb and each bulb made the card turn green. I hit the handles, knobs and switches in the bathrooms, my families phones, keys, wallet....next I'll hit the bottoms of my shoes when i come back from the store. Not sure if hitting the produce (tomatoes, bananas, etc..) will damage them but i know hitting my IPA cans is worth it. The cashiers ALWAYS touch the place you put your mouth when they scan them!! Disgusting. After a wash, i hit them with the wand. It takes a minute to build the confidence that you just destroyed every microscopic thing on whatever your irradiating, but i definitely feel like its doing its job. The only thing i wish was different would be a slightly longer cord, maybe like 8 feet or 10 feet, and maybe an aftermarket kickstand for the front of the unit. It has some sort of rubber or silicon bumper but a kickstand you could slap on there would be cool.

Packaging - 3/5 stars, it could be better
Product - 4/5 stars, no kickstand, but it has hooks to hand it.
Quality - 4/5 stars, wish the cord was slightly longer. Not a deal breaker though.
Overall - Satisfied

  • where is this made?

    Hello, thanks for the question. The handheld base and ballast are made in China. We then modify the base and some electrical components and add a few components (including the bulbs) in Delray Beach, Florida. The bulbs are made in Poland generally speaking but there are a few versions that have Asian bulbs as well. Hope this is helpful.

  • How long does the light have to make contact with the surface in order to kill the covid virus?

    Thank you for reaching out....the 18W Handheld once the light makes contact with the surface it should only take about 5-10min to kill any bacteria or Viruses (including COVID). Even then it shouldn't take that long. It also depends on how far you are to what your are trying to sterilize. The closer you are to the surface the quicker the sterilization process is.
