The Wedeco/Ideal Horizons - 12006 Water Treatment Germicidal UV Light Bulb is a 61.18 inches lamp bulb that has a base of single pin on both ends. The ceramic lamp bulb has a T5 bulb shape and an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.
The 75 watts UV bulb is compatible with WEDECO/Ideal Horizons 12006 water sterilization filters, UV sanitizers and water purifiers. Studies have shown that a UV water purification system can effectively destroy 99.9% of waterborne microorganisms. It provides a safe solution as this method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process and does not alter the chemistry, pH or taste of water. Both economical as well as environmental friendly, this method of water treatment is a much better option to chemicals and their bi-products.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit. The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot.
