Guaranteed Replacement Ultraviolet (UV) Bulb - 4 Pin on a Single End - 38 Watts - 31.89 Inch Length Lamp - Worry-Free Performance for 1 Year

The Wedeco/Ideal Horizons - 41010 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a four-pin on a single-end lamp bulb that provides you with a worry-free performance for an entire year. The four-pin on a single-end base lamp bulb has a T5 bulb shape and has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours. The 31.89 inches lamp has a wattage of 38 watts and is completely compatible with germicidal OEM Water sterilization filters, UV sanitizers, and water purifiers.

The light bulb emits short-wave UV-C radiation with a UV output peak of 254nm. This wavelength region is considered maximum germicidal effectiveness and is highly fatal to microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and other pathogens. The genetic material of the microorganism is deactivated when germicidal UV light passes through them and makes them incapable of multiplying. Researchers are of the opinion that this method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process. It does not affect the chemistry, pH or taste of water in the process and is a much better option to chemicals and their bi-products.

This bulb is available with a shatterproof coating that in case of damage keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit where is installed. This results in an easy way to dispose of glass if it shatters. You can select this shatterproof option above.

Do I need shatterproof coating?

Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.

The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot. The UV lamp is managed by the life of electrodes and works well for the following applications that require UVC intensity:
