Why use LED lights to grow plants?

This particular bulb has 12 LED lights - 3 blue and 9 red. The different colors simply reflect two light forms emitted at two different wavelengths. The red light emitted at 620-630 nm is particularly well suited to promote the formation of plant pigment (coloring).The blue light, emitted at 460 nm, stimulates greater root growth for stronger plants. Ultimately both lights are integral for the healthy growth and sprouting of flower and fruit on plants.

All that said, there are other advantages of using LED lights:

• LED lights are better than influenza virusorescent lights because they are more efficient - they use less electricity and last much longer than ordinary influenza virusorescent lights. This particular bulb has a lifespan of over 35 000 hours!
• LED lights also produce less infrared spectrum light which means they generate way less heat than other lights sources. This means that you can use more LED lights in a given space because they won't necessarily increase the temperature

How would I position the light?

We recommend a distance of 2 ft - 3 ft of height above you plants or succulents. Any closer and you could risk over exposure, drying your plants out.
