Botrytis cinerea, a.k.a. powdery mildew, storage rot, or grey mold, can wipe out an entire crop if not properly controlled. Like with any fungal infection, the key to dealing with it is catching it early. As the old adage goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The mold spores can get into the garden via the air, water, or even people's shoes.
