Sanidyne® Prime Remote UV Portable Air and Surface Sanitizer

The Sanidyne® Prime Remote is a portable ultraviolet (UV-C) disinfection system designed to irradiate the air and exposed surfaces within unoccupied areas. The system utilizes Sanidyne Prime 05-0892 AU Replacement Light Bulb - CureUV Brand Germicidal UV-C lamps to deliver ultraviolet irradiation for applications where permanent UV fixtures are not practical or where a portable treatment system is preferred.

Available in configurations with four or eight UV-C lamps, the Sanidyne Prime Remote can be transported between rooms and treatment areas using its integrated handle. A built-in delay timer provides time for the operator to safely leave the area before UV-C irradiation begins, while the 24-hour timer allows treatment duration to be configured according to the application and room size.

The appropriate UV dose depends on both UV intensity and exposure time. For application-specific sizing and treatment calculations, CureUV can assist with determining the appropriate sanitizer configuration for the intended space.

How the Sanidyne® Prime Remote Works

The Sanidyne Prime Remote uses high-output germicidal UV-C lamps to expose microorganisms in the treatment area to ultraviolet radiation.

UV disinfection performance is determined by the relationship between irradiance and exposure time. The UV dose delivered to a surface or volume of air increases as exposure time and UV intensity increase.

Because room geometry, surface characteristics, lamp configuration, distance, and exposure time can affect the delivered dose, treatment parameters should be evaluated for the specific application.

Important: The Sanidyne Prime Remote is intended for operation in unoccupied areas. Personnel should not be present in the treatment area while the UV-C lamps are operating.

Safety Delay and Timer

The Sanidyne Prime Remote incorporates a 1-minute, 30-second delay before UV-C irradiation begins. This provides the operator with time to leave the treatment area after activating the system.

The integrated 24-hour timer allows the treatment period to be configured for the application. Treatment time should be established based on the required UV dose, room dimensions, lamp configuration, and other application-specific factors.

Portable UV-C Treatment

Unlike permanently installed UV fixtures, the Sanidyne Prime Remote can be moved between treatment areas. Its portable construction and integrated handle allow the same unit to be deployed in multiple rooms or locations where fixed UV-C installation is not an option.

This configuration is particularly useful for facilities that require periodic treatment of different spaces or where the physical installation of permanent UV equipment is impractical.

Applications

The Sanidyne® Prime Remote can be used for UV-C treatment of unoccupied areas including:

  • Operating rooms
  • Patient rooms
  • Laboratories
  • Clean rooms
  • Open workspaces
  • Homeless shelters
  • Auditoriums
  • Hotel rooms
  • Gymnasiums
  • Morgues
  • Open office areas
  • Other areas where permanently mounted UV fixtures are not an option

UV Dose and Application Sizing

UV-C disinfection should be evaluated based on the required UV dose, which is a function of UV intensity and exposure time.

For a given location, the delivered dose can vary depending on factors such as:

  • Distance between the UV lamps and the target
  • Exposure time
  • Lamp output
  • Number of lamps
  • Room dimensions
  • Equipment placement
  • Surface orientation
  • Line-of-sight exposure
  • Areas that may be shadowed or obstructed

For this reason, the appropriate Sanidyne Prime Remote configuration should be selected based on the specific treatment requirements rather than room size alone.

CureUV UV Application Specialists can assist with application-specific UV dose calculations and equipment selection.

Operating Sequence

  1. Position the Sanidyne Prime Remote in the designated treatment area.
  2. Ensure the area is completely unoccupied.
  3. Set the desired treatment time using the integrated timer.
  4. Activate the unit and leave the treatment area.
  5. The built-in 1 minute, 30 second delay provides time for safe exit.
  6. The UV-C lamps activate after the delay period.
  7. The system continues operating for the programmed treatment duration.
  8. After the treatment cycle is completed, the unit can be moved to another designated treatment area if required.

Important Safety Information

For use in unoccupied areas only.

Direct exposure to germicidal UV-C radiation can be hazardous to people and animals. The Sanidyne Prime Remote should therefore be operated only when the treatment area is unoccupied and appropriate procedures are in place to prevent personnel from entering the area while UV-C irradiation is occurring.

The built-in delay provides additional time for the operator to leave the area before the lamps activate, but facility-specific safety procedures should still be followed.
