Although proper sanitation of surfaces should be a regular procedure in all homes and businesses, the problem with many bacteria, viruses, and other harmful pathogens including SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19, is that they are airborne and are transmitted simply by people interacting, speaking, laughing, singing, and coughing around each other. This means that properly cleaning surfaces while rooms are unoccupied may be less than effective as it may be a case of too little too late, but with our GermAwayUV Centurion, you can sanitize rooms even when they are occupied, ensuring you keep them free of germs, bacteria, and viruses.

The way the system works is it uses a state of the art cross-flow fan pulling over 694 cubic feet per minute to bring the air in the room into the GermAwayUV Centurion. The Centurion's MERV 13 filtration system then catches nearly all of the contaminants in the air including viruses, smoke, pollen, etc. Any microscopic viruses, bacteria, or contaminants that get by the filtration system fall right into the sanitation chamber where 4 x 60 watt UV-C germicidal bulbs quickly and effectively eliminate them.

What makes this product special?

With 240watts of UVC, a MERV 13 filtration system, and an ultra-quiet cross flow fan that gives it the capability to change the air in a 20 x 20 x 8 feet room every 5 minutes, the GermAwayUV Centurion would be an excellent tool in your fight against airborne pollutants and germs. With the added features of the programmable 7-day schedule, remote control, a WIFI web-enabled app, and a 135-degree motion sensor it comes packed with the features to make it an even more attractive proposition.

The first line of defense the Centurion offers is via a MERV 13 filtration system, now you are probably wondering exactly what this means. Well, put simply, this rating, which is defined by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) states that:- It is a filter which will block more than 90% of particles between 3-10 micrometers, 85% of 1-3 micrometers and more than 50% of 0.3 to 1 micrometer. This means particles as small as smoke and smog, which are common pollutants in many American cities, can be caught in the filter. These are smaller than pet dander, dust, pollen and mold. A MERV 13 filter is often necessary for densely polluted areas. What it means to you is that it is hugely effective at removing nasties from the air. 

Which then, virtually silently, continues past the 4 x 60-watt UV-C bulbs giving a total of 240watts of power.

It has been long known that UVC provides germicidal irradiation and fully degenerates the DNA of many microbes or pollutants. This is the part of the filtration process that most noticeably eliminates the microscopic bacteria and viruses that tend to spread in areas with high occupancy. There are now studies that have been done on the effect of UVC on the germ which causes C-19, and these can be found in the links below. It is also effective against many other airborne germs and pathogens. You will be pleased to know that the stylish, ebony chrome finished, aluminum case, does not allow the UVC to be seen from the outside, keeping the occupants in the room safe.

As for the control of the system, this can be done either with the included remote control or using the web-enabled app via WIFI, more than one unit can be controlled at the same time. The unit will allow a schedule to be programmed for 7 days, this can be manually overridden, if, let's say you need to start the "Centurion" sooner than normal as you are using your boardroom for an early meeting. There is also a motion sensor that can be set to start the "Auto Mode" whenever it detects people in the area.

As with all our "GermAway" products, we offer a 12-month warranty, and stock replacement bulbs and filters at a price that makes the GermAwayUV Centurion a very affordable proposition. We will also offer any future upgrades to the web app free to all customers for the lifetime of the units.

*It should be noted though that it is very important to turn the unit off whenever changing out the filters to prevent any exposure to your eyes. If you decide for whatever reason that you must open the system while it is on, we can provide UV protective glasses at no additional cost to you. Safety first!
