Single Pin Double Ended - 39 Watt Germicidal Water Treatment Bulb
Our Aquafine 3089 Replacement UVC Light Bulb has a total length of 33.19" and an arc length of 30.12". This 39 watts compatible light bulb works with disinfection filters, UV purifiers and UV sterilizers. It is effective at killing molds, bacteria, virus, yeast and protozoa in water.
This UV-C bulb is made out of ceramic and has a base style of single pin on a double end. The UV purification system is capable of protecting you from waterborne bacteria, molds, viruses and other pathogenic microorganisms such as giardia and cryptosporidium. People believe that this method of water purification is a cost effective way of protecting water from contaminants. With the intensity of 253.7 nm, the UV light emitted by the light bulb kills DNA and other microorganisms in water. When water is exposed to a UV light source it renders the microbes and bacteria present in water sterile. Researchers are of the opinion that UV rays are effective to destroy 99.99% germs in water that may possibly cause diseases such as gastroenteritis, typhoid, flu, cholera, and hepatitis. Further, UV filters do not introduce chemicals in water and is a far better alternative to chlorination. Experts believe that it is better to replace the UV light bulb annually though it may continue to emit light.
