Studies have shown that germicidal light bulbs emit ultraviolet rays at short wavelengths. This enables thorough disinfection by the process of destruction of microorganisms. This method alters the genetic composition of the microorganisms and makes them harmless.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit. This results in easy disposal of glass if it shatters and renders it easy to operate the system. The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot.
