Our CureUV brand Replacement UVC Light Bulb for UV Resources 52054544 is a 34" Double Ended High Output Lamp that gives you a worry-free performance for an entire year. The lamp uses UV-C light to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, protozoa, viruses, and yeasts. 

High in quality, the fixture has a long lifespan and is low on mercury dosage. The low-pressure mercury arc lamp emits a radiation of 253.7 nm that inactivates the genetics of the microorganisms present in water.

This method of water treatment requires no handling of chemicals and does not need any specialized storage. There is no change in odor, taste, pH, or the chemistry of water, which is why this is a preferred method of treatment from chemicals and their byproducts. It is established that UV light at the wavelength of 253.7nm can kill harmful microorganisms such as E.coli, giardia, and cryptosporidium that can cause harm.

The light bulb is compatible with germicidal OEM air, and water disinfection filters, UV sanitizers, and ultraviolet purifiers.

This bulb is available with a shatterproof coating that in case of damage keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit where is installed. This results in an easy way to dispose of glass if it shatters. You can select this shatterproof option above.

Do I need shatterproof coating?

Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
