High Output Submersible UV Germicidal Tank Sanitizers

Before purchasing, I called Cure UV to ask about the installation details and my application (300 Gal, Translucent Poly Tank, Southern Exposure, Direct Florida Sun). I was advised to use the 150 W model as the tank is quite large and that I needed the large light to insure good coverage. Cleaning out the tank and the house piping was an ordeal and we still have dead algae extruding through the shower heads, but I am hoping that this will slowly diminish. If I had been informed about the possibility of algae growth in the tank when building, I definitely would have looked into mitigation using something like this UV System. My water system supplier stated that the air blown into the tank would keep things from growing in it. Being busy with other details, I never questioned this, but now it seems nonsensical that adding air would prevent organic growth. Short version - The UV light came quickly, well packaged and seems extremely bright. After a few weeks of use, the water seems to remain clear and the old algae ring has not reappeared. The power supply and cord are not weatherproof so I have ordered an IP66 enclosure and a timer with plans to put the power supply and the timer in this box to protect them. I play on having the light operate 12 hours during daylight hours and shutting it down in the evening. It is very bright and would be a nuisance to my neighbors. Product is well made (though the power supply is not weatherproof), shipped very fast, appears to have plenty of intensity to keep the algae at bay and the bulb will last a year, making this a very good value overall. This is my 3rd house in Florida serviced by a well and water storage tank. If I ever build again, I will incorporate this UV light - no question.
