The process of UV curing is a method by which high-intensity UV rays work to instantly dry or cure coatings or inks in the printer. This method uses light instead of heat for the ink to harden instantly. These days the use of UV rays for curing is fast catching up and is widely used as an alternative to traditional solvent-based products. In the conventional drying methods (the ones that use heat to dry) solvents evaporate, which means that there is always a risk of environmental pollution. In the process of UV curing there no evaporation process and therefore no pollution created. The result is greater productivity, higher quality printing and lower production costs.
The curing lamp consists of a quartz plate that protects the lamp from debris and works as an effective filter between the curing system and the lamp. The plate prevents the lamp from damaging due to contaminants, debris and grit. The cost effective lamp is manufactured in the USA and is a quality solution with a predictable lifespan. CureUV provides lamps for printers in different arc lengths and spectral fills.
