The Ushio MHL-250 Metal Halide UV Lamp is a high-output, medium-pressure ultraviolet light source engineered for UV curing, photopolymer processing, and diazo exposure applications. Ushio MHL series lamps utilize a metal halide arc tube containing mercury, scandium, and additional metal halogens. During operation, the high-temperature arc discharge excites these materials to produce a controlled ultraviolet spectrum. While the mercury emission line at 365 nm remains present, the added metal halides modify and extend the spectral output to support photopolymer, multi-spectrum, and diazo processing requirements.

This lamp is the designated replacement lamp for the Hoenle UVAHAND 250 Hand-Held UV Lamp Curing System and must be operated with a bridge-gap ballast specifically designed for metal halide lamps, including appropriate thermal protection.
