In order for your germicidal water system to work effectively, it is imperative that the quartz sleeve is completely clear. A foggy or dirty quartz sleeve can significantly attenuate the power of your UVC bulb, resulting in substantially less sterilizing power. A good way to think about it is that if you have trouble seeing through the sleeve then it is very likely that UVC light has trouble passing through it. We recommend cleaning your quartz sleeve regularly but even with regular cleaning, a certain type of fog can occur. If the sleeve cannot get completely clear, we strongly recommend that you replace it to optimize your UVC Water purification system's performance.
