With our GermAwayUV HVAC Coil Scrubber, you can convert your AC system into a full-size air purifier, designed to work alongside your AC, this device will ensure your spaces are free of viruses (including SARS COV-2), bacteria, parasites, and other contaminants. Not only will it purify the air in your spaces, by killing the parasites that lower the yield of your AC coils, this device will improve the performance of your AC and make the best out of its useful life.

Ships within 1 day!

Features:

  • UVC light emission destroys 99.9% of bacteria and molds maintaining the air in the room purifieded
  • Maximize the useful life of your systems by eliminating harmful parasites from the yields of your AC
  • Designed for efficiency, this system will sanitize the air of your rooms for a cost-effective price

The benefits of UV-C light in sterilizing the air we breathe have been well documented over the last decade. The air in our homes is full of bacteria, parasites, viruses, and other microbial contaminants. The UV-C segment of the electromagnetic spectrum quickly and effectively deactivates the RNA molecules in all of these microorganisms leaving your air fresh and clean.

The problem is that with weaker UV-C lights, the rays often do not have time to fully irradiate the microbial parasites as the air flows through the system. A large part of this problem is because UV-C light degrades logarithmically instead of linearly. What that means is that if you have 10 mw/cm2 of UV-C light 1 foot from the light source, at 2 feet you do not have 5 mw/cm2 but probably 1 or 2 mw/cm2. This rapid degradation makes it so that harmful bacteria and viruses can escape the cleaning power of UV-C if they travel quickly or stay far from the light source.

The solution is to make the UV-C lights as powerful as possible and place them as close to the source of contaminants. This is what brings us to the GermAwayUV Coil Scrubber. By placing the UV bulbs a mere inches from the coil (the breeding ground for fungus, bacteria, and viruses in your AC system), and using the most powerful bulbs available, we are able to improve the efficacy of the standard HVAC UV-C system substantially.

Upon installing this system in your home HVAC system, you should notice a marked improvement in the air that you breathe as the UV-C light emitted by the system will tackle allergy-causing microbes as well as fumes and residues from household cleaners, paints, chemicals, and other VOC (volatile organic compounds).

This system will also prevent your AC coil from getting soiled prematurely and needing professional costly cleaning. By eliminating the parasites that lower the yield of your AC coils you will be improving the performance of your AC system while also improving the quality of the air you breathe in your home.

Applications:

  • 36 Watt Scrubber: AC systems for homes under 1,500 square feet.
  • 72 Watt Scrubber: AC systems for homes over 1,500 square feet.

Which system is right for me?

Generally speaking, you want to get as much UV-C intensity as close to the coil as possible. If you have a W-shaped coil, it is considered best practice to install one bulb in each of the crevices in the W, using the 72-watt system. If however, you have a simple coil without much space, you can install the smaller 36-watt system.

What about the electricity cost?

Many people are reasonably concerned that having 2 powerful UV-C bulbs running all year can cost a fortune. Luckily, that is a misconception. With average electricity costs in the US, running this powerful AC coil scrubber costs only about $6.31 per month in electricity. Certainly not free but a fair price to pay for cleaner healthier air without harmful mold and fungal plant parasites.

Specifications:

  • Power: 72 watts/36 watts
  • Bulb Life: 10,000 hours
  • Bulb Length: 9 or 16.1 inches
  • Wavelength: 254nm (UV-C)

UVC Output (measured on EIT UV Power Puck II)

  • @1" around bulbs output is 8.5 mw/cm2
  • @5" around bulbs output is 4 mw/cm2
  • @10" around bulbs output is 1.75 mw/cm2

* mw/cm2 (millwatts per centimeter squared) is a measure of the light intensity. To get dosage (joules), you need to multiply the intensity by the time.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I would like to know the warranty difference between the UV lights CureUV manufactures compared to the other companies like American Ultraviolet, Phillips etc, they provide from 10,000hours to 13,000 hours and CureUV gives 9,000 hours. Can CurveUV offer the same?

Hello, our 9,000 hour warranty is based upon the idea that we recommend germicidal bulbs are changed out every year. If you recommend a yearly change, people will change it out after a year and a bit. No matter what time you set a meeting for, some people will be early and some people will be late. However, clean potable water is a major concern so we recommend this 1 year change so that even the tardy folks are protected. Running a bulb for 365 days is just under 9,000 hours. When we first developed the product line, it seemed counterintuitive to recommend yearly changes but offer a warranty that is significantly longer. That is what led us to the decision to offer a 9,000 hour warranty. In reality, we would put our bulbs against any other manufacturer and in practice, we regularly send Philips brand bulbs to our customers when ours are out of stock. I hope this is helpful!
