THIS WHOLE ROOM DISINFECTION UNIT HAS GREAT DEVICE FEATURES
The UV bulb on this device is long lasting so you’ll have up to 10,000 hours of usage time! You can use it regularly, for 15 minutes every week, to ensure a consistently clean room. But, you can also use it once off, for example during and after a bout of flu, to safely disinfect a room.

How do I know it's working?!
Our customers often ask us how they know that the Tabletop Surface Sterilizer is actually doing its job. It is a pretty reasonable question to ask. After all, the disinfection that UV-C provides is happening at a microscopic level. This is why we have started including a set of free UV-C Visualizer Strips along with all GermAwayUV Surface Disinfection products. Simply put the UV-C Visualizer card on the surface that you wish to disinfect and be sure to run the tabletop unit for an entire cycle. At the end of the cycle, you should see some color change. The strip begins life as yellow and turns slightly green as it receives UV-C germicidal irradiation. If at the end of the cycle the strip has not changed color slightly, simply move the unit closer to guarantee that you are disinfecting the area.
*It is important that you avoid exposure to your eyes or skin when using the GermAwayUV Tabletop UVC Surface Sterilizer. Ultraviolet (UV-C) light is harmful to your eyes and skin. Use proper safety gear. We recommend turning the unit on and walking out of the room. If you need a solution that you can be in the room to use, please see our room occupancy air sterilizers.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding UV-C in the time of COVID19 Coronavirus (watch this before calling please):
QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Does this system kill listeria monocytogenes organisms on wet surfaces if the surface is directed toward the light in an enclosed room?
Gary, the water shields organisms from a relatively high percentage of the UV-C rays so although the light does kill the organisms, it will take a much higher dosage than otherwise planned.
Hello, I see the question below regard C. Diff. I am interested in purchasing this for my husband specifically to kill the Clostridium Difficile. On the link "full list of germs which can be eliminated" It does not specifically list Clostridium Difficile. It lists Clostridium Tetani and Clostridium Botulinum. I would like to know for sure that the C. Difficile will be eliminated by this light before Invest the money.
Our GermAwayUV table top sterilizer has 55 watts of UV-C light which is 99.9% effective against C. Diff.
Is this good for removing mold contamination from items brought into a new construction home? Toys, board games, stuffed animals, books, clothing, mattresses, bedding. Items washed and dried in the new washer/dryer retain the moldy odors. Can the washer and dryer be effectively de-contaminated also?
This unit will sterilize any room but if you wanted to remove all germs from specific items, I would recommend one of our handheld UV sterilizers:
Is the UV-C device harmful to cloth or other fabrics?
Hello, thanks for your question. UV-C will fade fabrics. It is not so noticeable that a few minutes will turn a black garment gray but prolonged exposure should be avoided for fabrics you truly want to maintain pristine.
after using is there any lingering uv in the room to cause damage to the eyes, skin ect... for me or my dog.
Diane, our GermAwayUV table top device only emits harmful UV rays during operation. No pets, animals or living beings should be in the room while the table top unit is on. However, once the bulb turns off there is no lingering UV light.
How do you know the length of time to run the unit?
It really depends on where you are running it. The bigger the room, the longer you should run it. For a small room I personally run it for 30 minutes generally speaking. For a larger room, I tend to play it safe and go with the 1 hour setting (making sure everyone and all pets are out of the room).
Question about superbug treatment
Yes. This UV-C device disinfects C Diff and MRSA pathogens. Our GermAwayUV UVC sterilizers destroy 99.9% of harmful microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria. View the full list of germs which can be eliminated.
Hi, What is the dose (mj/cm2) of this uv/c lamp/system? Thanks
The actual dosage depends on how long you run the unit and where you are measuring it. The lamp is 55 watts but that will give you differing dosage whether you are measuring it right by the light source or 3 meters away. It will also depend on how long you run it for. I'm sorry that there is no clear cut answer to your question.
Does glass (in a window) stop the UV-C or should we be putting drapes up when using the light?
Regular glass stops a very high percentage of UV-C light but cannot be assumed to block 100% of it. We recommend that you put up drapes to block light leakage from hitting people or pets at any time.
If I use it in a bedroom to make sure there are no mold, will I have to remove my clothes from the closet if they are behind a closet door?
That depends on where you want to clean. UVC light is only effective on the sufaces it touches. If you want to treat an area, you need to eliminate shadows as much as possible.
How often should you run the table top unit to be sure c diff is killed off? daily, once a week, once a month?
The CDC recommends daily cleaning while someone is showing symptoms of C. Diff and weekly cleaning as a preventative measure or at-risk surfaces like beds, bathrooms, phones, remotes.
Does this lamp generate ozone? If so how long do I have to ventilate room before entering?
This lamp does not generate or produce any ozone. You can plug it in and use it right away but we recommend 10 minutes of ventilation after usage.
How many square feet does it disinfect? How far does it reach?
Colleen, please fill in the GermAwayUV Tabletop Room Sterilization Dosage Calculator on the product page. Simply select the germs you are targetting and the room size and it will tell you the time needed to kill 99.9% of microbes in the area.
